I went shopping yesterday to buy the rest of the present that I got for my friend Sam's 21st birthday. While I was downtown I also added three new dvds to my collection. The dvds I got were:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Season One
Camelot (film musical) (I've been looking for a copy for a while and I was browsing through the dvds that were marked $6.34 and I found it in one of those shelves)
Muppets Treasure Island (favourite muppet movie that I've wanted to get for ages)

Sam's 21st birthday party was tonight. Her birthday is actually in February but she had a combined birthday with her dad (who was turning 50) and her brother (who was turning 18). It was a pretty good night. We ended up playing Singstar at the end, which is the first time I've played the game. It was fun though, I have to say singing Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles was probably the easiest song that we did. Some of the songs we did were Build me up Buttercup, Just like a pill, Survivor, Bring me to Life, Who do you think you are, Girls just want to have fun and a couple of others.

Including tonight, I have now been out for the past three Saturday nights now.

I still haven't figured out how I've actually started having a social life.

So last night I actually did something that resembled a social life.

One of my friends was holding a candle party and she invited me to go so I spent two hours over at her house last night. Except we didn't really do much with candles, the majority of the evening I was talking with one of her friends who was there who I hadn't actually met before (I'm pretty sure I haven't met him, but my memory is rather bad). We had over an hour talking about Star Trek and different fandoms.

Our Star Trek conversations mostly revolved around 1) Who would win in a fight between the Death Star and a Borg Cube and 2) Who was the best Star Trek captain.

This was the first time that I've actually had those type of conversations since most people I know aren't into Star Trek. The friend who invited me over (who isn't a Star Trek fan) was like 'I can't believe I'm having this conversation in my house' and her housemate went 'he has this conversation all over Bathurst,'

It was pretty much random but it was fun.

In other news I still haven't heard from Coles yet in regards to whether or not I have the job but hopefully I'll hear something by the end of this week. I'm also starting TAFE next week, so I'll have to get into the studying pattern again.

I've been looking after my brother for the past few days as my parents have gone to Melbourne for a wedding. It's been okay so far, aside from the fact that my brother has had a broken leg for the past few weeks but my parents will be back sometime Tuesday so it's not long. Well the progress report so far is that the house is still standing so that's a good thing.

Have watched a disturbing amount of comedy shows lately. Mostly it's been Comedy Inc, which I used to watch regularly when it was on Channel 9, I'm not sure if it's still on there or not, but it's now on the Comedy channel. We were watching it this afternoon and some of the stuff that was on the show, I haven't laughed so much from watching a show in ages.

My favourite part was definitely the Ned Kelly segment, one of the gang members was saying that they should derail the train and Ned Kelly asked how they were going to do that. The response to this was 'it's a New South Wales train, it'll derail itself,'. Another bit in the show that I liked was when they were trying to get a celebrity to open a school fate and they were complaining about how no one had gotten back to them, except the people that they had tried were like Ruth Cracknell, the Queen mum and Buddy Holly. Then the woman said that they had tried to get Daryl Sommes and the committee was like 'he's not dead,'.

Aside from that, I've been exposed to a lot of Mother and Son on Fox Classics this past weekend, which has been interesting.

It really doesn't take a lot to amuse me.

A random update

It's been a while since I've updated.

Went downtown on Monday for another one of my random shopping trips. I finally got a copy of Serenity and I also got Power Rangers Dino Thunder vol 1. I also got a new copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, because I never got my original copy back after I leant it to someone.

That's about it, still nothing on the job front. I still have to do my resume, I should probably do that in the next couple of days.
