3/8/08 11:36 pm
I went shopping yesterday to buy the rest of the present that I got for my friend Sam's 21st birthday. While I was downtown I also added three new dvds to my collection. The dvds I got were:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Season One Camelot (film musical) (I've been looking for a copy for a while and I was browsing through the dvds that were marked $6.34 and I found it in one of those shelves) Muppets Treasure Island (favourite muppet movie that I've wanted to get for ages)
Sam's 21st birthday party was tonight. Her birthday is actually in February but she had a combined birthday with her dad (who was turning 50) and her brother (who was turning 18). It was a pretty good night. We ended up playing Singstar at the end, which is the first time I've played the game. It was fun though, I have to say singing Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles was probably the easiest song that we did. Some of the songs we did were Build me up Buttercup, Just like a pill, Survivor, Bring me to Life, Who do you think you are, Girls just want to have fun and a couple of others.
Including tonight, I have now been out for the past three Saturday nights now.
I still haven't figured out how I've actually started having a social life. Current Music: The Awefull Battle of the Pekes - Cats Australian Cast

I went shopping yesterday to spend my birthday money. Some of the things I got include:
DVDs: Charmed - Season 2 box set Charmed - Season 3 box set Charmed - Season 4 box set (I now have Season 1 - 5 of Charmed on DVD, I just need to get Season 6 - 8 and then I have all of them)
Star Wars Episode 1 Star Wars Episode V Star Wars Episode V1 (I now have all six Star Wars movies on DVD - I had The Phantom Menace on video but I wanted to get a copy on DVD)
Books: So Long and Thanks for all the Fish (I got this copy at a second hand book shop) Mostly Harmless (I ended up getting this one brand new because the second hand book shop didn't have a copy) A hardcover copy of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith which was on special (it was $10.00)
So it was pretty good yesterday. The only problem was actually carrying the bags around. One of the stores I went to I ended up having one of their bigger bags but it ended up breaking and I had to get more bags from another store that I was in.
I also ended up picking up a job application. The job is for a casual position to work Customer Service at the Post Office. The application closes on Tuesday so I'm probably going to fill it out tomorrow. Current Music: If I had a Fine White Horse - The Secret Garden OBC

The DVD of Into the Woods that I ordered from Big W last week arrived today.
I've already watched the DVD and I'm definitely happy that I decided to order it. I ordered online because I couldn't find it anywhere else and since I discovered Into the Woods last year and found that a DVD of it existed I wanted to get it.
So yay another DVD! Current Music: A Very Nice Prince/First Midnight/Giants in the Sky - Into the Woods OBC

Went to the movies for the first time in a while (the last movie I saw at the cinemas was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). I saw National Treasure 2, which was actually really good for a sequel.
I also got two more DVDs to add to my steadily growing collection. I got Power Rangers SPD Vol 3 and the first National Treasure movie. So now I only need to get Power Rangers SPD Vol 1 & 2 and then I've all five volumes in that series.

Went DVD shopping today.
I didn't end up finding a couple of them that I wanted but I still got 6 DVDs for pretty good prices. I went to both Target and Big W and I got the following:
Cats Galaxy Quest Meet Me in St. Louis The Phantom of the Opera [2004 film] Power Rangers SPD Volume 4 Power Rangers SPD Volume 5
I think mum was going to kill me after finding out that I had spent money on Power Rangers DVDs but I think she's given up that I'll stop buying those type of DVDs (I'll only stop until I can get all of the ones that I don't have :))
I also handed in an application and my resume in at Target in the hope that I'll be called in for an interview and get a job. I'm not counting on anything but at least I've applied. I also got invitations for my 21st birthday party next month (on the 2nd of February, my actual birthday isn't until the 4th but we're going to have it the weekend before my birthday since my actual b-day falls on a Monday) so I'll have to fill out the invitations and send them off by early next week.

Happy New Year!
I had a pretty quiet New Years, I was the only one in my family who was awake at midnight so I just watched the fireworks on channel 10 and then I went to bed at about 1:30am or so.
I'm still slowly putting songs on my iPod due to the fact that the itunes that works with my ipod is on the main computer so I have to keep transferring the files between the computers. I'm up 1400 somethings songs so I'm nearly finished filling up my iPod. I need to finish putting the music on it so I can delete the songs that are on the main computer.
I have plans to go shopping on Thursday because of the DVD sales that are on, and Thursday is when the sales start so I can't get them before then. While I'm there I have to pick out invitations so we can send them out for my 21st birthday in February, and I also have to hand in an application at Target (I'm not expecting anything from it but I need to seriously start looking for work). I was looking through the catalogs from Big W and Target and when I saw all the DVDS (particularly ones that I want) I was going "EEE DVDs!". I've already picked out the DVDs that I want to get and most of them are about $8 and most of them are musicals. Current Music: Murder! Murder! - Jekyll and Hyde OBC

So I finally got around to seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix today and I have to say that it was definitely worth the wait. It's not my favourite of the movies (my favourite is still Prisoner of Azkaban) but I still enjoyed it.
When I was downtown earlier today I also brought a copy of the movie Rent on DVD, I've been looking for the DVD since I saw the stage production of Rent that was put on by the Carillion Theatrical Society earlier this year but I hadn't been able to find it at a reasonble price. I ended up paying $5 less on it then I would have if I had purchased it when I was in Sydney a couple of months ago. $5 isn't much but for me every little bit saved helps. I had money left over, which was good because I also needed to have enough money left so that I could still catch the bus to TAFE when I needed to and so that I could also buy my dad's father's day present.
So yay me!
7/23/07 06:58 pm
I meant to post this last night after I got home but I decided that it was best to leave it til today when I wasn't as tired.
So first things first I didn't get that job at Coles but I don't really care as much now, hopefully I'll hear from the other place and find out what's actually going on. If I don't hear from them by the start of August I'm going to have to call them again. Then I'll probably start looking around for another job even if I still get to keep the job I have now.
Item number 2: I've started TAFE (earlier than what I had planned). I had my frist week last week and so far it looks like it will be okay. As part of the Tertiary Preparation Course this semester I have to do Computers, Communications, Language and Arts Skills, Maths in Context and Multicultural Australia. The only subject that I haven't had yet is Language and Learning Skills (LALS) but that's because the teacher who is supposed to take it was sick last week. So I'm not sure if I'll have it tomorrow or if we'll have Multicultural Australia again for Tuesday and Thursday like it was done last week.
Item number 3: I spent the weekend with my family up at the Entrance. We stayed with my Aunt and Uncle at their place and it was a pretty good weekend aside from the fact that we really only had one full day up there. I still got my copy of Harry Potter and spent the entire day just reading. I also got more DVDs to add to my steadily growing collection (I got Fiddler on the Roof, Kim Possible - A Stitch in Time and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).
( Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows )
I got a copy of the book a bit after 9 on Saturday and I started reading at 10:00am. I spent the day reading and I was finished by 9:00pm that night. So I finished the book in less than 12 hours.
So now that Harry Potter is finished these are the book series that I a) want to finish reading or b) at least read some more of the books.
1. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams (I'm up to Life, the Universe and Everything) 2. The Tomorrow Series - John Marsden (I've read the first one but I'm planning to re read it and I've also got a copy of the second book in the series to read) 3. Discworld - Terry Pratchett (I've only read The Colour of Magic so I've got quite a few books to read in the series) Current Music: Tango: Maureen from the movie Rent
6/2/07 11:04 pm
Went out to the movies tonight with my parents and brother to see Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End and I really enjoyed the movie. This is the first time in over a year that I've been to the movies, the last time I saw a movie at the cinema was in February last year when I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
In other news I finally saw Pirates of Penzance with Anthony Warlow and David Hobson. When I went shopping earlier in the week (I spent some of my first pay, the other part is in the bank where I'm saving up for TAFE next year). I found a copy of the Pirates of Penzance DVD and since I missed out on seeing it when it was on TV last year, I got a copy of it. When I brought it home and showed dad he was like, 'how many copies of pirates do you need?". For the record I have three - four if you count the video of the production of Pirates of Penzance that I was in but I don't like watching myself in that. The other versions of Pirates that I have are the Jon English and Simon Gallaher production and the Kevin Kline and Angela Lansbury version. In addition to Pirates I also have two versions of HMS Pinafore and two versions of The Mikado. I've got two Opera Australia productions of each one on DVD and I've got the two productions that Jon English was in on video.
2/20/07 05:14 pm
Spent the morning downtown and did some shopping, which was good. I had around $92 and I ended up with $5 at the end of it, some of it went towards food and I also picked up a copy of the Daily Telegraph.
Things I purchased:
- The Best of the Power Rangers DVD (my parents pretty much went 'aren't you too old for that?' when they saw it, to which I responded 'there are people older than me who like the show') - The Complete Season of Firefly on DVD (I finally got my own copy. It was originally $40 in Kmart and it was actually $10 less. So I payed $30 for it.) - Guys and Dolls movie on DVD (I'm a musical theatre geek. That's all I have to say) - The Dead of Night (the second book in John Marsden's Tomorrow When the War began series)
So now my reading list looks like:
- The Colour of Magic (I'm halfway through) - Good Omens - Life, the Universe and Everything - Tomorrow When the War Began (I need to reread it because it's been a long while since I have) - The Dead of Night
1/23/07 10:33 pm
Spent nearly a week up at the Entrance, got back yesterday after a very long ride home. Due to the bushfires and the traffic being redirected we got caught in the traffic at Wiseman's Ferry (we were there for an hour, even though we were pretty lucky because after we got through there were delays up to three hours) and once we got to Windsor it took another hour because it was bumper to bumper traffic.
It was still a good trip though, we stayed at my Aunt and Uncle's unit. I didn't end up going to the beach (which turned out to be a good thing because while my parents and brother went they didn't end up staying there very long because it was too cold in the water) but I did go shopping. I had $85 to take with me (I had more but I brought HMS Pinafore with Anthony Warlow on DVD the day before we left) after I was finished I had 45 cents in change plus a Myers gift card that I haven't spent yet. I ended up buying Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic, Neil Gaiman's & Terry Pratchett's Good Omens, the Oklahoma! DVD with Hugh Jackman, a five CD Rock and Roll box set and I also got a magazine and a notebook. While I was up at the Entrance I watched HMS Pinafore twice, sadly I wasn't able to convert anyone to Gilbert and Sullivan.
I'm glad to be home though and I'm glad to be back on the internet!. Even though we didn't get home until 9:30pm so I ended up missing out on Supernatural and The Sentinel.
Heroes is premiering next week YAY!
